Bio:
If you ever wondered what it was like to grow up in a war zone just ask Mony Karlo
what life is like in Gary Indiana. Mony came from one of the most violent places in America where poverty, drugs, and violence are a part of everyday life. Like
many trouble and that was rap.
Mony knew right away that he had talent and decided to focus on building a career out of it. In 1993 Mony founded the legendary Gary rap group "Outside" and their singles "Flow On" , and "Easy Come Easy Go" quickly took off gaining heavy rotation on local radio. Outside opened up for the likes of Lil' Kim, Crucial Conflict, and Monica to name a few.
In 1997 Mony broke away from Outside to work on other projects including several for the silver screen. Mony started to gain experience in the film industry with the films: "Original Gangsters", "When thugs Cry", and the hiphopumentary" To Live and Die in G.I." with C.O. Tha! Bad Black, Sound Master-T, and Jah-Rista to form the group " The Swamp Family". The group opened up for industry icons suchs as Red Man, Big Daddy Kane, and Ludacris. The groups success gave birth to Mony's solo career.
In 2003 Mony Released the underground hit "For Tha Love of Money". In 2004, Mony Darlo's first single "Stop That!", produced by Tampa's Lewis Bryant was released and played regularly in clubs and on airwaves from Tampa to Atlanta, and from Dallas to Chicago. In 2006 Mony along with C.O. landed the song "Fallen Soldiers" on the film and soundtrack to the movie "Steel Here" which starred Lawrence Hilton Jacobs.
Now Mony resides in the ATL where he is constantly performing at open mics and recording tracks for his album "Unlawful Entry". After many years in the game Mony is ready to explode onto the scene and prove to the industry that he has what it takes to become a major factor in the game.
