Bio:

Skinny Playa is a native of Atlanta, GA. He grew up in Zone 3, where he co-founded a hip hop group called Dem Ghetto Playas. In 2002, the group became known nationally for their hit single “Ghetto Millionaire”, which featured Baby “The Bird Man” of Cash Money. The dynamic trio wrote meaningful lyrics and amazed their fans each time they hit the stage. Dem Ghetto Playas became one of the industry’s most talked about hip hop groups. They each possessed their own style, but Skinny Playa was known for his swift flow and laid back persona.

After an unexpected split from the group, Skinny Playa was determined to continue pursuing what he loved most, music. He is currently signed to Deep End Records, and the release of his solo album is coming soon. It is highly anticipated and will capture the attention of many. Some of Skinny Playa’s most creative moments are illustrated on this album. The album is one consisting of many flavors. It has been described as a musical mixture of a little dirty south with a crossover appeal. Skinny Playa wrote and produced several songs on this album along with Deep End’s own, Edna. His first single entitled “Check My” was produced by Skinny Playa and features Nook Dawg and Don Rod.

He contributes his love for hip hop to some of the greatest like UGK, Goodie Mob, Outkast, 8 Ball and MJG, and Spice 1. He was also influenced by some of A-Town’s legends such as Sammy Sam, Kilo Ali, The Hard Boys, and Ghetto Mafia.

Skinny Playa has proven over and over again that he is a force to be reckoned with.
